First Time?
Plan a visit to Life Church.
SCHEDULE
Sunday gatherings at Life Church begin at 10:15am. Our gatherings run 90 minutes or less. Most Sundays we dismiss between 11:35 - 11:40am.
TRANSPORTATION
We offer van shuttle service to the Sadler Center Terrace on William & Mary’s campus before and after church each Sunday during the Fall and Spring semesters. If you are not a W&M student and are in need of transportation to attend church, please contact us a few days in advance of your visit and we will do our best to assist you.
refreshments
Coffee is available in our cafe between 9:45 and 10:15.
ATTIRE
Survey our congregation on Sundays and you’ll spot suits, t-shirts, and everything in between. Come dressed however you like.
entrances & parking
Our church property has one entrance/exit off of Longhill Road. Parking wraps around the back side of the building. We have two primary entrances: the “flagpole entrance” on the south side of the building, (visible when you enter the parking lot), and the entrance at the center of the curved, back side of the building.
come say Hi!
Members of our Host Team are excited to meet you and available for any information you will need during your visit.
FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN
PROGRAMMING
On Sundays we offer an infant nursery, a toddler nursery, Pre-K programming, and K-5th Grade large and small group programming. Our K-5th Graders join the broader church in the sanctuary for the first song during our time of worship.
child registration & check-in
If you want your children to participate in our kids ministry, our Host Team will help you register them in our check-in system on your first visit. For security and to personalize your children’s experience, each child is required to wear the sticker printed by our check-in system with their name and number on it for the duration of their time in kids ministry. Parents are given a corresponding sticker with a matching number. We encourage you to arrive about 20 minutes early (~9:55am) for this initial registration to be as smooth as possible.
ATTACHMENT ANXIETY & OTHER CHALLENGES
Some families have children navigating attachment anxiety or other challenges. We sympathize with these concerns and encourage you to do whatever is best for the emotional and physical well-being of your child and others.
If your child’s challenges require you to accompany them in our kids spaces for extended periods of time, we request that you remove them from the classroom until they are able to return. In order to honor our commitment to families, we can only allow endorsed, background-eligible adults to remain in classrooms beyond the times ordinarily associated with drop-off and pick-up.
If your child has challenges that typically require special accommodations in a school setting (e.g. physical limitations, instructional limitations, behavioral concerns), please contact us and we will work with you to provide the best possible care for your child.
OUR LEADERS & VOLUNTEERS
Every classroom is staffed with at least one adult and one or more adult and/or teen assistants. All leaders and volunteers 18 and over have successfully passed a legal background check.
SNACKS
Depending on the classroom and age of your child, they may receive a snack during their time in kids ministry. Candy is given out with discretion as an occasional prize or during special events and holidays. Please let the leader of your child’s classroom know if this poses a problem for your child. An opportunity to specify allergies is part of your initial registration.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
We have a number of kids classrooms throughout two hallways in our building. Our Host Team will direct you to your child’s classroom after their initial registration. Please note that if you drop a K-5th Grader off later than 10:10am and before 10:25am, that group may be in the sanctuary to join the congregation for the first song during our time of worship.
Our building is open to the public on Sundays, and not every leader and volunteer knows every parent of every child. For the safety of every child, they will only be allowed to leave a classroom at pick-up if their corresponding sticker is presented to the leader or a volunteer of their classroom. We appreciate your assistance and understanding in keeping all our children safe!
NURSERY & INCIDENT NOTIFICATIONS
If nursery staff encounter extended difficulty in consoling an infant or toddler, or if there is an incident involving a child of any age, you will be notified with your child’s sticker number via red digital numbers on the displays on the two walls on either side of the sanctuary stage.
